And then we went to the Zoo...

Somewhere in the rehearsal process, someone decided we should go to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium. Originally we had planned for December 1st, and then some of the cast remembered they had afternoon classes. This turned out okay as that was the day the near-tornado swept through Greensburg.

So instead we went on Saturday Dec.2, a perfect day for polar bears and penguins.

Thanks to Jon Bliss for the free passes!

On the trip: Jon Bliss, his wife Shelly and son Drew; Julian Critchfield, Steve Dayoub, Elaine Galinskie, Travis Jones, Genevieve Jones, Ashley Peer, Steve Schrum and Chad Smith.

Above: Elaine sees penguins!

Right and above right: The Penguins array themselves in a perfectly composed formation that I hope the students in my directing class learn next semester.

Below: Julian crawls into the Meerkat tunnels; man, he is tall! We see his feet and head at the same time!

Below right: Elaine and Ashley peer out; Chad is..trapped!

We plan on doing a revival of Noises Off, but with puppets...and began rehearsals in the gift shop.
"Home!" "Dear old house!"
Bow down to the tiger...!

"Take us home, Elaine!"

Before we go...

Okay, probably only I found this interesting...built by the WPA. Now let's watch The Cradle Will Rock.
